If BA's intent in providing this service is for people with tight connections hence unable to go to a lounge pre-flight, then they should provide Starbucks with a boarding pass scanner that 'beeps' if the person has been to a lounge before, thus preventing double dip...
At the end of the day, people who abuse the system is costing BA money, and in turn either results in this benefit to be enhanced away, or higher ticket prices for all.
What is the difference between a passenger visiting a lounge in T5A, then when they know their flight is departing from T5B, they decamp to the T5B lounge, and the same passenger decamping to Starbucks in T5C if that is the satellite from which their flight departs?
BA provide passengers with the benefit to receive 15 pound worth of refreshments from Starbucks because there is no lounge in T5C. It's not provided just for those with tight connections.
