IIRC you'd have to be careful about the sequencing to do this. AFAIK if you go into the satellite (for example by folliowing transit signs for your flight) as a departing passenger, you can't easily leave the area except on an airplane. I witnessed some of this when a flight was late and some passengers were being rebooked by the GA. They apparently needed to go with a security person to exit the satellite terminals. If you have a satellite to satellite connection, they might not let you enter the main terminal.
