I find at JFK they have a tendency to tear things open. I have an item I keep in original packaging, made it through TSA/International security checks multiple times. One time I have to go through JFK and they destroy the packaging to open the box (all they had to do was remove a strap) that's been a problem to no other TSA. The box was so badly destroyed they had to get a replacement box.
