I was looking at Star Alliance Circle fares but seems there is not which would cover all four cities, plus their circle pacific fare is $6K in Y which is more expensive if I fly round trip to each of those cities from Singapore.

Any ideas?
1) one way flight SIN-SHA
~$350

2) open jaw SHA-SFO-SIN on JL or NH to get a stopover in Japan... the stopover surcharge is usually quite reasonable, if it exists at all
~$1200

3) SFO-GRU round trip
~$1200

ETA: I just searched SHA-GRU-SIN on Kayak, and discovered that DL is only $1800. If you tinker with multi-city routings a bit, I'm guessing that you'd be able to take stopovers in both NRT and SFO for less than $500 extra.
