Let's not forget that new checked-baggage screening requirements will go into effect the same time as the $100 standby fees (on four major airlines -- I believe that US started already). I would not want to be an airline employee during January 2003. Or a passenger!

That's why all the airlines are adding Kiosks, check in at home or in the car etc
