After 10 years with UA, I've been looking for alternatives, and had been considering this A3 program as such. Now, I've reached a point where I no longer see value in pursuing status with anyone. This year, I've been flying various airlines - whatever airline had the best flight option, and I've found that in most cases I could simply buy whatever benefits I wanted. Club access, premium seating, priority security, they've all been available for purchase as needed and I've taken advantage where I saw value in it. In a world like this, who needs to bother with status?
