Let's stick to the specifics of the OP's situation. Someone suggested the ultimate reservation guarantee might apply. URG is for when someone is "walked" from a property. That's not the case here & MCVI is not included in the list of brands to which the URG applies. The room type guarantee is for bed type and smoking/non-smoking. It does not apply to views, nor is the RTG applicable to MCVI.

I do think that, since the OP had a confirmation showing ocean view that that's what he should get.

However, at this point ocean view rooms are no longer available so short of kicking someone else out of one (and if the others are those that actually own the timeshares vs. redeeming points that won't happen) I'm not sure one's going to be available. The OP can try for extra points to be deposited into his account as customer service good will if he's stuck with a garden view, hope that someone who booked an ocean view doesn't show/cancels, hopes the garden view that is a view of the pool isn't too bad, or ask for an upgrade to a larger room/suite/villa (if one is available).

To the OP: which property are we talking about here?
