I know it's an ad for Time, but that doesn't lessen the impact of the photo. I see real-life scenes like this every time I fly (over 200k miles since September 11, 2001). And it doesn't make me very proud of the US.
I assumed it was a posed shot with models because the idiots at the TSA would probably not have allowed the photo if it had been a real passenger.
Nevertheless, it speaks volumes about what's wrong with Paranoid America in the last 13 months, IMO. YMMV. As the caption says:
At what point do national security and common sense collide?
IMO, common sense has long left the building at TSA headquarters.
