I think this is WAY over blown.
This is from front pocket wear. The 6+ is much more susceptible to it than other phones as it's happening in a very short time. They didn't brace it inside enough.
As a comparison I've been carrying my similarly sized Note 2 in a front pocket for nearly 2 years without issue.
