Looking at your username I guess you could be doing the same route!
From memory it took about 1 hour from leaving the plane to getting through security at T8. A seat a little closer to the front would of cut this time even more. You will have no issues providing all is running correctly.
Thanks for this - reassuring. Yes - we are doing the same route - with two different airlines (booked with US Airways on their metal but had to be rerouted as times changed leaving us with an impossible int>domestic connection - under an hour!! - so now LHR>JFK with BA and JFK>MCO with AA). Can just imagine how much of a pain that will be to sort out if the LHR>JFK route is late or we are held up at immigration...
Have always found US immigration to be pretty efficient (<1 hour) - except at MCO - hence the avoidance! Now been reading horror stories of 2-3 hour waits at T7.
We are flying Y but as far forward as possible - I think around Row 35 - so hoping for a speedy exit. We won't have bags to recheck, no kids to deal with and I am definitely up for a bit of power walking to the immigration line
