I'd say I'm asked for ID 90% of the time, and asked to see the card itself ~10-15% of the time... more frequently than many others it seems. I'm forced to pay for business stays with a corporate card, so I've always had it with me. I'd say those properties that ask for the card are doing so at local management's lead after having a fraudulent charge recalled or some other similar incident.
