Aloft Chicago City Center, Chicago, IL [Master Thread]
Just finished a quick one night stay at this aloft and it was by far my best aloft stay so far.
On a positive note in comparison to other alofts I have stayed at:
- Bedding seemed much better! They had decent feather pillows and the mattress seemed more up to other Starwood mattress standards as during past stays at other aloft properties.
- AC solution at this hotel is worlds better than the jet plane noiselike units at other alofts
- Having a full serve restaurant is a nice option. I didn't eat there but having the option is nice.
On the not so positive side:
- Noise is a problem! In defense of the hotel, virtually every hotel in that area seems to have horrible soundproofing. Hyatt Place next door and Hampton Inn around the corner are no better! Aloft probably had the least noise (but then again I asked for a quiet room so I was on the 18th floor). I also could hear my neighbor pulling down their roller blinds like they were actually in my room.
- I can't stand those mini ironing boards!
For the right price and for a short stay I would definitely consider staying here again.
