One also needs to be very careful depending on the jurisdictions you're flying into. Notwithstanding Federal laws of transporting firearms, I have had friends who have been given real hard times by PANYNJ when bringing a licensed firearm to LGA/JFK because they had a NYS permit which of course isn't valid in NYC.

Again, this should not be the case because there are federal laws, but as with many other things, NYC thinks it is above everything else.

I wouldn't ever deal with this because it is not worth the trouble. If I need to transport a firearm, I just FEDEX.
