The problem is that you are crediting to Air France's partner, AS, and not Air France. If you were an AF flying blue member you would easily get original credit, but because you're trying to credit to AS it is more complicated. I don't see AF paying AS for miles you didn't fly when they are already paying UA to fly you. I agree it is a sorry deal, but I don't think it will end the way you want it to and I hope I'm wrong. I have always gotten original routing credit from the airline that bumped me when crediting to their program, but never when crediting to a partner.
