This time to Barcelona, we took in the Hilton and the Alexandra, having stayed at the Diagonal Mar previously. The Hilton was nice, but just as far out of central Barcelona as the Diagonal Mar (it's something like the 2nd or 3rd from last stop on the L3 line). If you want location, you'll want the Alexandra IMHO, which is also accessible from the L3 (and several other lines) via about the same distance walk.
We had an executive king room right outside the lounge; although I was worried about the noise, it wasn't bad. Soundproofing must be decent. The room was a bit on the small side, and the bathroom had only a shower; overall, it was similar in size to the executive room we had at the Diagonal Mar a couple of years ago, but a bit smaller than the one at the Alexandra.
We took breakfast in the lounge, which was okay--definitely not as good as it had been at the Diagonal Mar when we stayed there, though IIRC someone said the Diagonal Mar also had downgraded breakfast offerings the past couple of years. The lounge dragons were very, very strict about the cutoff times for breakfast, cocktails, tapas, etc.; we were headed out at the end of breakfast, and saw them turn away someone at 9:59am (even though there was still some food out). Likewise, they took away the wines right at the end of happy hour.
No Diamond welcome gift of any sort. (I was Gold when I stayed at the Diagonal Mar, so I can't make a comparison.)
ETA: We also had a room service snack before heading out for dinner, and though typically hotel-restaurant-pricey, it was quite tasty. We had squid croquettes and a cheese plate, and the croquettes in particular were very well-executed.

Just got back from Barcelona, and IME the wifi at the Hilton Barcelona was fine. Maybe I got lucky? As we were there the last couple of days of the trip, I had started posting some of the photos online, and even uploading 10-12 MB photos seemed in-line with speeds at other hotels, if not a bit faster than I'm used to--it was faster than most Hampton Inns and HGIs, for example.
