Sad to say I'm at the RC right now and it's gone down hill. I used to love this place, but there are now better places for the price. Key issues;
- Beach is effectively closed!!! So much work going on down there that its all diggers and fences...all the view is gone to sea and it's really rubbish. I've not checked the web site, but if they are not mentioning this they should be! Also major works either side of the hotel
- Pools...old side is the same as was pre refub, new side is still nice but it's looking shabby 1 year in. Tiles missing, grass not watered and dying, water pipes every where etc
- Club lounge offering not as good as before. Less choice, lower quality ingredients..ie no sushi any more, cheaper wines etc.
- New wing rooms are nice as we all know, however old wing is now re opened...my friend has a room that side and it's like the poor family member! Rooms are less modern, and the finish is terrible! You MUST be on the new side
So my advice is seek a new home....personally I cant wait for the FS
agree almost with everything...I have been to this place many many times because I like their large grounds (perfect for kids) and their beach. But it honestly cannot compare with true top properties in the area. I don't know about the new rooms but the whole product was seriously one or two steps below what you can find in Dubai and to the average RC standard.
The pool need disperately to be renovated and I would add something about their food concept especially after the french restaurant has been closed. Is it open now or do they have other options a part the Italian and the very arguable Lebanese?
