Sorry to have to disagree so strongly (and I haven't been there!) but if somebody is careless enough to smack me in the face with their handbag/backpack/object of whatever kind, hard enough to dislodge eyewear, I would probably also make a very annoyed snarky comment. It's not like he screamed profanities at her, is it?

If my seat neighbour then proceeds to lecture me about what a horrible person I am because the recipient of my comment is unusually upset about it I would probably tell them to mind their own business.
