I don't think anyone would argue against the idea that 1D clearly over-reacted quite a bit here but isn't this a bit of a storm in a teacup?

It amazes me just how blissfully unaware people are when they have backpacks or rucksacks on, most simply do not consider the extra space taken up by what's on their back. I see this every morning on my busy commuter trains in the mornings into London where it's packed and standing only. People are forever turning round with their rucksacks on pushing into other people or their space.
