Hi

Sorry to ask this but I can't find the answer on the AA website. I am trying to book an award flight on Cathay Pacific from JFK to Australia, which will obviously go through Hong Kong.

I will just be transiting in Hong Kong, and I'm wondering, since this is the only way to get to Australia from JFK when flying Cathay, will I just need 72,500 miles for a First booking (or 62.5k for Business), or will AA charge me the miles for the 2 separate sectors (JFK-HKG and then HKG to Australia)?

If anyone knows the answer I'd appreciate some help.
