I'm pretty sure there are pay bands per aircraft and the pilots are paid depending on what they are flying. Example:

757/767 pay band
747/777 pay band, etc.

It's safe to say years of experience plays a part, but a 747 captain moving down to a 767 or 737 would not make the same hourly rate.
