Citibank rewards card
Don't know how I could have missed it before, but I don't have a Citibank Rewards VISA yet. 1 mile / $3 sounds pretty unbeatable to me for supermarket spending (I have HSBC 6x on dining already) and I'm actually beating myself up a bit over not holding it yet.
A few questions before I hit the Citibank branch on Monday:
1. Do I have the same conversion options as with citi PM card (BA, MH, EY, IHG etc.) or only DL, CX, TG and SQ as per FAQs on their website?
"For our Frequent Flyer Program, you will be charged a handling fee of HK$50 for every 5,000 miles redeemed per transaction through Asia Miles, Royal Orchid Plus, SkyMiles and Kris Flyer."
I'm thinking this might just not have been updated since the time they added BA and other options for PM conversion.
2. Understood from the Wiki that it's 50$ per conversion of 5,000 miles. I assume there is no way to avoid paying this. Does this also mean you can only convert in blocks of 5,000 miles or will it be pro-rata (i.e. 1 cent per mile) for anything above 5,000 miles up to 300$?
3. The Ms. shall get a supplementary card linked to my principal card. Will her spending count towards my rewards, and at the same earning rate (1 mile/3$)?
4. I hold the PM already so I understand I will not receive any welcome offer. But will I need to pay the annual fee in the first year and how do I get it waived in the following years? Will the Ms.' supplementary card annual fee be waived simultaneously if I manage to get mine waived?
Thanks a million in advance.
