I always ask to make sure I get a stamp when I can, no agent has yet said no.
What saddens me is the EU. I'll fly US-Euro Gateway-Destination and only get a stamp of the Euro Gateway. So when I review my Passport I see a DUS stamp for when I went to BUD (no stamp), an AMS stamp when I went to PRG (no stamp) etc. It somewhat ruins the nostalgia.
