There has only been one time they waived the annual fee (about 4 years ago)
and I think the enrollment bonus was only 25k. It only happened one time to my knowledge. It has never been offered with 50k. There are active 50k promos going on at the terminals and inside the pocket on the aircraft and inside Spirit Mag. They are all for the $99 annual fee card with 2k spend for 50K in points. The referrals are for the Plus card and $69 annual fee. All of the 50k offers expire 9/30/14 howwever.
