This is a great video for showing how they do it in the Philippines

Forgetting the small matter of the overrun, it's the 'Cabin Crew Prepare for Landing' and 'Ladies and Gentlemen we shall... etc' tannoy announcements that make me chuckle!

The only serious issue i've had, which was the closest i've come to making a CAA complaint was a couple of years ago on Air Asia from Penang to Hong Kong. I had the front row seat, and just before we turned onto the live runway an air stewardess made herself a hot drink, sat down in the crew seat opposite facing me, nattered away to her colleague as take off roll commenced, at no point putting her seatbelt on.

My worry was not about her should take off roll be aborted and she goes head first into the barrier between us, that's her own fault, but the fact she'd cover me in scolding water at the same time.
