While government fees will vary, they definitely are not as high as the above suggests. JFK-AMX-BHX has $236 in taxes/fees as reported on Delta's site. You can also look up the taxes/fees on Matrix. Adding another domestic hop will add a few taxes, but is should be nowhere near $400 (it should be around $250 or so). Taxes to DOH are actually considerably less than BHX. I get $133.70 on one roundtrip routing I attempted. Something is definitely wrong there. Your receipts should have the tax breakdown. What do they say?
