I've just booked my first stay in an Accor property in China (Sofitel Forebase Chongqing) and sent them my usual email enquiring if/how status benefits apply to my stay. Usually when I do this, I get confirmation of a room upgrade if available or of complimentary late check out and the like.
This time, however, I got this back:
Unfortunately you can not use your Accor Platinum Leclub card in the Asian-Pacific region, but you can use it in other areas of the world.
I'm rather sure that this doesn't apply to the Asian-Pacific region as a whole, but how about China? Has anyone made similar experiences? How did you deal with them? I chose the hotel specifically due to my status, even though other properties would've been located a bit more suitably in downtown.
Thanks for any hints/tips how to deal with that. (Obviously I already wrote back asking if she could reconfirm that statement since it clearly doesn't apply to the whole asian pacific region)
