Well done
airmanofthequeen - enjoy the flight!!
I flew F to BOM in July, and the ticket price was at least £500 cheaper than the J class tickets that my colleagues had booked. Their tickets were corporate TA fully flexible and mine was a standard A class fare, which had a £200 change/cancellation fee. Fortunately, I did not change, so no fee was paid. I bought my ticket at a different time and flew out on a different date, which probably explains part of the difference.
I was a little smug as I turned left and wished my colleagues a good flight, reminding them that I was only doing this to save the company money!
IME, the difference can be explained through cheaper less flexible F tickets remaining available whilst similarly (or greater) restricted J fares have sold out/been withdrawn.
Great if you can get them, especially if you are a leisure traveller with no need for much flexibility.
