Have you already booked this ticket? If not, I urge you to run, not walk in the opposite direction, this is virtually the minimum value you can get out of an Aeroplan redemption.

As for the upgrade, you're looking at about $400 each way, per person, and it should be noted that you'll only be upgrading from Rouge to "Premium Rouge", which is not the same as upgrading from Economy to Business.

Long story short, on this route you are MUCH better off on Alaska.
