Update: We flew SGN-HKG this morning, the precursor to our HKG-NRT-DEN flights this weekend. My companion and I used OLCI and then checked in separately at the airport. Her bag was tagged with "Priority" and the printouts had the "VIP" moniker. We only had 4 bags for this leg and since SGN-HKG is UA-operated, I had no problem checking 3 and my companion checking 1 without charge. When my companion checked in online last night, however, attempting to check more than 1 bag looked as though it would incur a baggage charge. Her online BP also had "Premier Access" on it, though the airport printed BP today did not.
