You have way too much emotional investment in the status quo. History does not bear you out. Lok at the national elections of 1980 and 1994, for instance. We had wholesale turnover of legislators that resulted in a 180-degree about-face in some policy areas.

In other words, our hope that current "security" procedures will change may, in fact, be realized. Don't be so pessimistic!
