Have you researched SMA? The jardin is the heart of town.
I have written extensively on the two hotels in previous posts. Even though the Belmond ( this is it's third ownership change in as many years) is closer to the jardin ....I would stay at the Rosewood. It is the best hotel in town, gorgeous and a quick 5 minute walk to the jardin through picturesque colonial streets.
