I just stayed 4 nights at the SCL Renaissance, after staying 3 nights at the Marriott down the street. I am PP and the Marriott upgraded me to a 2 room suite. The Renaissance, despite being less than 20% full tried to tell me that my only upgrade was to include lounge access. That was it. Breakfast was in the lounge only, and was only fair. I got a standard room, right next to the elevator facing away from the city/mountain view. They couldnt even give me a view room. The lounge ran out of beer the first night and refused to get more, despite only 5 people a night being in the lounge. I truly have never had a worse experience at an international Marriott property (edited to clarify that the bad stay was at the Ren and not at the Marriott which was great).

I will ensure nobody from my company ever stays at this property again.
