On one occasion last week the safety video was still playing as we entered the hold point just next to the runway. Do the crew need to inform the captain that the briefing is complete or would they just commence take off roll regardless - that's the closest I've known it come and it appeared we were holding until the video was complete as we entered the runway as soon as the video finished.
Part of the flight deck "pre take off check list" is to receive a 'cabin ready' message from the chief cabin crew member.

You quite often hear ATC ask a flight at the runway holding point if they are ready for departure - the reply is often along the lines of "just waiting for the cabin".

This does often happen up at Newcastle when runway 07 is in use due to the short taxi time from gate to runway.
