It's not clear to me. On one hand it says the entire price has to be paid by the card, but on the other hand it explicitly excludes AAdvantage mile redemptions
but no other program--specifically or broadly, which suggests perhaps other programs are allowed. When I inquired by phone, the front line Citi agent refuted my theory and transferred me to a specialist to confirm, but I kept getting transferred
and needed to move on. If anyone gets a reliable confirmation from Citi, please share it.
If indeed award tickets are not covered, then the benefits are mostly useless for me and CSP remains my go-to card for this (since it does cover award tickets with taxes and fees charged to it, by several accounts).
