Portugese, Spanish, they all sound alike to me.
My take also is that they will go with the CRJ, notwithstanding that Bombardier heavily concentrated on how proud they were that the CRJs were so small. "Smaller by choice, smaller by design" was their slogan. Honest. So how's that as a way to annoy your customers?
But from a passengers point of view, the CRJs are just atrocious. If AC starts flying CRJs across Canada, and there was every indication that some of this fleet was intended for just that, then WestJet will start firing cannon shots across AC's bow at every turn.
I mean, given a choice between a CRJ, and a 737 with increasing pitch and TV at every seat, which would you choose. And if your getting 50%, 25%, 0%, or even -25% miles (don't laugh, and remember, you heard it here first) for flying Tango fares on Zip aircraft painted in Latitude Leisure fares flown by Jazz pilots dressed as Mork From Ork, even Aeroplan won't be much of a factor.
Frankly, I think the B717 and ERJ170 don't have a chance for a lot of reasons, so it will come down to A318 vs CRJ700. As a passenger, it's a not brainer. The A318 is the lesser of two evils.
As for the CRJ, it should have horns painted on it. And maybe a tail. Or a pitchfork.
