I assume this is a ferry leg for the CDG-PIT flight. Is this regularly scheduled or is it flying this route only because they are ending CDG-PIT for the season?

I don't work for Delta but being that today's CDG - PIT is wrapping up after today's flight, the 757 would have to fly somewhere, JFK makes the most sense so yes, I would say you hit the nail on the head.
