Well, it seems that most people who replied to the poll do not want more foreign ownership in the airline industry. But that's the obvious answer, isn't it?
"Do you want more foreign ownership?" ---"Of course not". No one ever wants foreign ownership to prevail over domestic ownership.
In my opinion, its either more foreign ownership or more government involvement. I prefer more government involvement, personally. What would be better, "letting the free market prevail" or fixing the airline that we have?
And by the way, lets not use the US airlines as examples of what we would like our airlines to become. Who cares if they have more than one national airline?
Canada is not the US, and I like to think we have a different way of thinking over here. We have social programs and systems that set us apart, and it is for that reason that, rather than scrap the whole thing, we should try and fix it.
