If your ticket rules allow it and you're bringing forward your departure, you should be able to change your booking pretty much up to check-in closure for the flight that you want to take. I've recently seen this done at LHR to change to a long-haul that was departing in less than 60 minutes.

However, if you're set on flying to LCY, remember that there are no GLA-LCY flights on Saturdays.
