But I'd like to hear some real-world information from people who actually go there. I have a few long layovers coming up that may warrant spending the money to get a day pass, but I don't want to be "that guy" and get dirty looks or be turned away because I'm not meeting the dress code.

I typically wear a t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers when flying. I'm guessing that probably isn't allowed, but would throwing on a polo be enough? Or are there people that wear t-shirts and shorts inside the Sky Club? Is it different at different airports or different clubs within the same airport (I usually fly through MSP or DTW)?
I've never even thought about this.

I would think that anything you would wear on an airplane is acceptable.

While its true that you mostly see business casual, I've seen plenty of people in vacation clothes. Then again, I mostly use the LAX club, so its more common to see someone in jeans than see someone in a suit. That said, I suppose a business casual or better look "might" get slightly better counter service, but I highly doubt it.
