Does every imperfection deserve compensation? Sure, you could say that the only reason you flew AA was the outlets; but that wouldn't be true, now, would it. Elevator to the LAX Admirals Club doesn't work and you (an able-bodied person with only a brief case) have to take the stairs. Compensation? You pre-order your entrée; but someone miscounts and they run out before they get to you. Compensation? The GA is rude. Compensation?

Let's look at some parallels. Do you request compensation from building management when the elevator isn't working in a two story building? You order take-out and they forget one of the dishes. Do you request compensation or just the replacement of the missing dish? The person behind the counter at the dry-cleaner is short with you. Compensation?

If you're not requesting compensation in the second set of examples, then why would you request it in the first?
