If you were confirmed in first and still want it, ask to be rerouted through HKG and there should be no change fee.
Yeah, I've checked our options. For 9 November, BKK-IAD, there is only one 2 leg all F option: TG676 (A380) and UA804 (777) {that's if you discount the fact that UA is still offering F (A) on TG614!}. While the 676/804 option sounds great, it's a 45 minute connection in NRT. If we miss the connection, the only later options are UA F to SFO and then domestic F home...if they even have space in F for the TPAC.
We are also getting the A380 F experience from FRA-BKK on the outbound, so that's less "special."
So, the 2-hour later wake-up out of BKK, and shorter flight in C with solid connect time in PEK to UA F direct home edges out the 676/804 option. We'll hope that something changes again. Semper Gumby.
