Anyone have experience calling DL Medallion number for AF service?
Hi folks--
I'm in Europe, having a wonderful time. DL and KL did a great job getting me here. I have a separately ticketed (don't ask, I know) AF flight from BCN to CDG on Wednesday. I was feeling pretty good about it not being canceled, based on today's flight schedule ex-BCN. Then I looked at Tuesday, where AF has canceled six of seven flights. According to French press, Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be among the worst days for cancellation.
So, I'm starting to think about options. And like any good FlyerTalker, I have flights I want. But I'm expecting to have to wrangle with AF to get them. In descending order, they are a direct Iberia flight operated by Vueling, a connecting flight on CSA via PRG, a connecting flight on AZ via FCO, a connecting flight on LH via MUC and a connecting flight on KL via AMS.
I was thinking about the long lines I'll likely encounter calling AF from over here, and remembered that whenever I call the Medallion line it says "Thank you for calling the Delta, KLM and Air France premium sales and service line." That got me thinking, can I load up Skype and call the medallion line to get this dealt with?
Last but not least, if I end up renting a car because of a missed train because of this mess, my travel insurance policy I bought for this trip will cover that, right?
tl;dr: I want your help figuring out if I can call Medallion line to deal with Air France strike. And will my travel insurance cover this.
