Wouldn't stay in Taormina for longer than 3 days, ever. Two days may be enough really.

It's really busy - calling it hustle/bustle is an understatement. Ever been to St. Augustine, FL? It turns into tourist hell at peak times ,and it's dead in off times. Avoid August at all costs, and try to plan your upcoming stay strategically.

Taormina beaches are rocky, short, etc. Pools are small at hotels that have them.

The place is expensive, but I guess that goes without saying.

Probably one of the most gorgeous spots in all of Italy, but plan accordingly and go with zero expectations as to what you think it'll be like.
