Vanquard Airline's loan request rejected

A federal panel refused to approve a $15 million loan guarantee for Vanguard Airlines Inc. out of concern the carrier could not pay the money back.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based airline, which flies to 18 cities, had originally asked for a $60 million loan guarantee.
