Well they have the Cayenne and Panamera if you are with family. If you have elite status with Hertz, you can get these as an upgrade. I got both the Cayenne and Cayman as upgrades from a cheap VW Golf reservations at AMS.

No, not at all. Nowhere in Europe is mandatory. In fact I don't know of any country in the world where it is mandatory?
