And since the time you can apply for your next Citi card has nothing to do with whether you cancel or not (only with when you last got your previous card). why not keep the card another year if it doesn't cost anything? That way you can have its benefits (free checked bag, priority boarding, 10% rebate -- up to 10k a year -- on award redemptions, etc) another year.
I'm well aware of the retention policy (& recent changes to Citi's practices in that regard, about which I've posted in the referenced thread).

In my case, there's not much reason to keep the card since
  • I get all the same benefits from my Citi AA biz card, and
  • it would be nice to free up some excess credit when I apply for my next Citi card.
