Use whichever card you're most comfortable with fees-wise -- a Visa will likely work best -- and if one card doesn't work, try another, then switch ATMs. I called back to my bank a few times while in Seoul earlier this year, and found some transaction attempts simply never reached them from even some Global ATMs.

Korea is not on the EMV (chip-and-PIN/chip-and-signature) train yet. You'll be swiping for everything.

You'll need cash to buy and load your T-Money cards. Honestly, when I looked at it before our recent first trip, I decided peace of mind upon arrival was worth sacrificing the cost of a cheap dinner out, and bought a few hundred thousand KRW from a local bank so I didn't have to worry.

Have a great trip!
Thanks! Do you know what kinds of withdrawal fees the global ATMs (e.g. at Incheon and or Gimpo) charge? I know lots of these ATMs will charge fees as they're mostly outside the network that your card is on.

EDIT: I just found the details for Kookmin bank... Withdrawal fee within normal service hours is KRW 600 and outside of normal service hours is KRW 900. Having a difficult time finding this information from the other banks though.

That's not too bad for Kookmin, so I may just get money from them. I think they have an ATM somewhere at Incheon

What's the quickest way to get a good amount of cash right after de-planing at Incheon? We get in at 4:40am and then have to transfer to Gimpo for a flight to Jeju closer to 9am.

Both my USAA and Andrews FCU cards have the magnetic stripe so they should work for swiping and what not.

I thought I read somewhere that you can load T-Money cards with a credit card like at convenience stores or whatever. Maybe I misheard?
