Unnecessary confusion, and Astaroth has it right.

The 'Amex MBNA Elite Credit Card' is a co-branded MBNA card offering Skywards points in the same way as other co-branded cards such as AA, VS, UA ... There is no separate transfer involved, as in transferring AmEx MRs.

So far as the AmEx platinum charge card and the AmEx platinum credit card are concerned, I'm pretty sure that both can be linked to the same Membership Rewards account (assuming that the credit card earns MRs). That was the case when I had two MR-earning credit cards.

A call to AmEx would seem to be in order.
