Welcome to Flyertalk YoungEddie, it's good to see you here, welcome on board. Welcome in particular to the BA board, and no I don't think you've posted in the wrong place. I hope other lurkers aren't too deterred by fear of mis-posting, the Mods in this board are fairly gentle at nudging things into the right place and it's just a technical correction. So stay around, it would be good to hear more from you.

I suspect you're not going to get too far with online travel agents, so you can rule that out, and the APD on a domestic to GLA is not big bucks anyway. And though you can look at lines in the Montréal Convention under Article 19, which you can Google, the painful reality is that this is very difficult to enforce in a cost/time effective manner.

Which brings us on to your insurers - the whole point of insurance is to handle this sort of thing, so if you bought disruption coverage and the insurers are trying to wriggle out of it, then you may want to name names since this is the sort of thing that becomes a barrier to people getting insurance - namely bad experiences.

Having said that, I've enjoyed some good travel on Royal Brunei (and it helps that I don't drink!) and even with an unexpected fare to Glasgow I imagine it is still a bargain. Watch that any other sectors on the GLA route were not deleted too. If you do this again, you may want to discuss the travel with a human travel agent, so they can provide a single ticket or at least booking.
