And I'm right in the middle with 4 airports within a 90 minute drive, though MME is more of an airstrip these days. You also need to factor in things like car parking charges, where NCL is cheaper than EDI and a lot cheaper than GLA. layz is right that NCL management is worried about the APD issue, mind you they have always moaned about APD. On the other hand they directly control the parking fees for 80% of the airport's car parking spaces, more than GLA and EDI, so there are some remedies in their own hands. [And I've spent another evening shoving out Better Together leaflets, just for the record.]
Problem is holidaymakers travel so rarely (but are important for NCL as a whole) that they'd not even think about parking charges. If EDI is cheaper they might book it without thinking.
I know someone a few years ago, lived in Stratford (the one in East London) wanted to fly to AMS so I looked up the price from LCY, but they ended up flying from LTN just to save £30

most of the savings wiped out in rail fares and of course the massive inconvenience of LTN.
